After getting good feedback from my review for the Elephant Extreme mouse, let’s move on to yet another high-quality yet super affordable gear for your audio needs: the Mi In-Ear Headphones!
Timing was a bit post-coincidental for me when I got to know about the Mi Phones, since I’ve already consecutively bought three pairs of earphones costing an average of P1,000 each! It was a fault on my side, yes, but I just couldn’t help but notice the inadequacies pair after pair of earphones. First was the Philips, then the Samsung, and finally the Sony- the latter was the best yet. Until my sister showcased these phones to me after ordering it on Lazada. After testing, I had no second thoughts. I ordered one right away.
How To Order
Search Lazada with the name of the product, and make sure to get the photo with the circular enclosed casing like the one I’ve posted. Follow the necessary procedures in ordering, then voila! If you’re in Metro Manila, you’ll have it delivered to your place in a day or two. I ordered it 9pm and got it 10am the next day. The current price is P849 with a P99 standard delivery charge.
The Packaging
The packaging is pretty classy considering its P849 price tag! The first layer is a neatly folded thin white carton that also serves as its manual: parts, instructions, etc. are written along. Then we have the main case wrapped in plastic with a matte feel. Upon removal, you’ll see a very nice and well presented casing that puts other earphones packaging to shame- a matte box made of plastic with a transparent removable cover!
The golden earphones are comfortably yet securely tangled along a custom-made holder made of rubber, with the Mi logo on it. It is removable from the jewelry case, and further inside are three extra pairs of silicone earbuds sized in small, medium and large that can also serve as replacements for the stock buds.

The Verdict
As a musically-inclined individual, i’s a given I want my earphones to be seamless, and to be of the highest quality possible- the best from the quality vs. price ratio that fits my budget, that is. And even in the P2,000 mark, Mi’s In-ear Headphones leaves Sony, Samsung and Philips in the dust.
You can hear everything clearly: clear and powerful yet understandable vocals (yes, it’s a thing for me lol), depth of bass, guitar and keyboards in their highs, mids and lows nicely enumerated in their given spectrum, and orchestral music even gave me goosebumps. Now I may sound like I’m overreacting, but that’s just how it is. It was like hearing my favorite songs in a whole new light. Songs I’d usually skip nowadays, I’d listen to them once more ’cause they really do sound better. You can savor said music other headphones can’t let you.
I let my friends try the headphones and boy, were they surprised as well- my bandmate James, upon playing Slash songs with the Mi, commented that it’s like Slash is there playing right beside him. Haha.
Also, hands down for its solid build quality! It’s not cheap and easily breakable at all. In fact, its ‘Anti-tangle Cable Made of Braided Kevlar Cord‘ makes it viable for long-term use. So long as you don’t abuse it.
Reading back, I noticed I was all praise and no criticism on the Mi headphones. Well, I just find it a really good product priced at a very affordable price. Others recommended me Sennheiser, Bose, Shure and even Jays products- yes, they’re brands that currently dominate the audio scene, but sorry to say I haven’t tried their products in the 2k range so I can’t comment on them yet. I’ll be sure to make a post about it though! For now I’ll just enjoy the awesomeness of Mi. Hope you enjoyed the review!
